Charles B. Anderson, M.D.
Consultations in Adult Neurology and Electrodiagnosis

Dr. Anderson is a native of Minneapolis, MN, and graduated from Dartmouth College in Hanover, NH, in 1969. After completing the basic medical sciences degree program at Dartmouth Medical School, he attended the University of Minnesota Medical School, where he received his MD degree in 1972. He worked on a clinical research project in Minneapolis before moving to Portland, OR, in mid-1973 for a one-year rotating internship at Emanuel Hospital. He then returned to Minneapolis and completed a 3-year neurology residency program at the University of Minnesota; in 1977, he started his private practice of adult neurology in Fargo, ND. While there, he held a position as Assistant Clinical Professor of Neurology with the School of Medicine at the University of North Dakota. In 1991, Dr. Anderson and his family moved to Helena, and he was the sole adult neurologist in the cummunity until the arrival of Dr. Mark Dietz in early 1999. The two joined with several other specialists to form Maria Dean Medical Specialists in the new Maria Dean Medical Office Building adjacent to St. Peter's Hospital.

Dr. Anderson married Lana Steiner in 1970, and the couple has two children. He has many interests outside of medicine, including walleye fishing, skiing, reading, traveling, and music; bluegrass and various forms of folk music have been particular favorites for years, and he enjoys playing 5-string banjo and guitar. He was certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in 1980, and is currently a member of the American Academy of Neurology, the Lewis and Clark Medical Society, and the Montana Medical Association. He has been active in medical staff affairs at St. Peter's Hospital, and is currently Chief-of-Staff elect. Dr. Anderson has been a volunteer board-member of several non-profit organizations, including the St. Peter's Hospital Foundation Board from 1993 to 1999.

Dr. Anderson practices consultative general adult neurology with Maria Dean Medical Specialists, which is a part of Helena HealthCare, Inc.
