James N. Burkholder Dr. Burkholder was born in Boise, Idaho, where he graduated from high school. He went on to Whitman College, Walla Walla, WA, and graduated in 1976. He then graduated from the University of Washington School of Medicine in 1980. He completed his residency at Midland Family Practice in Midland, Michigan, in 1983. In 1983 he moved to Helena and started practicing with the physicians at Family Health Clinic. During this time he has been the chairman of the Department of Family Practice and Chairman of the Hospital Quality Assurance Committee at St. Peter's Hospital. In his spare time he enjoys fly-fishing, skiing, photography, and other outdoor activities. He volunteered as a cub master from 1993-1996 for the Cub Scouts. He also plays the Clarinet with the Helena Symphony Orchestra. He has served with the Helena Symphony Society Board since 2000. He has three sons and has
been widowed since 1996
