Dr. Robert M. Shepard

Dr Robert Shepard, and his wife Billie have lived in Helena since 1978. Dr Shepard attended Harvard University, in Boston Massachusetts and Baylor Medical School in Houston, Texas. He did his internship at Baylor University Hospitals in Internal Medicine. He and Billie spent two years in the Public Health Service in Fort Benton, Montana. They fell in love with the state, its people and its recreational opportunities. Their son Justin was born in Great Falls, during that two years.

Dr Shepard and his family went to California for two years. He completed his residency in Family Practice at Contra Costa County Hospital as part of the University of California Davis Residency Program. He and Billie had daughter Robin in California. He has been Board Certified in Family Practice since 1978. He has successfully completed required recertification examinations every six years since then..

During his 22 years in Helena, Dr Shepard has been an active community member, serving on numerous boards of local non-profit organizations, St Peter's Hospital and the Myrna Loy Center , as Medical Director of the ambulance service, and an anti-tobacco crusader.
